2015 SOCAL EDISCOVERY & IG THINK TANK

Even though we frequently communicate with our colleagues and clients electronically, when it comes to cementing relationships, there is no substitute for face-to-face interactions. Advances in technology have also increased the need for thought leadership in the areas of eDiscovery and Information Governance. To meet these needs, Ingenious and FTI Technology will be hosting a Think Tank in Beverly Hills on the subject of eDiscovery and Information Governance.

The SoCal eDiscovery & IG Think Tank is an intimate gathering of corporate executives and in-house counsel, who will come together to discuss hot-button issues in eDiscovery and Information Governance in a half-day format. The objective is for participants to share their knowledge and ideas with each other, and to engage in thought provoking conversations. Lastly, summaries of the takeaways from the Think Tank will be emailed to all participants after the event.

The Think Tank will begin with registration and breakfast buffet, followed by stimulating discussion around eDiscovery and Information Governance. Questions posed for group discussion will include; Is all enterprise data created equal? If not, should all enterprise data have the same protections? How are your peers managing e-discovery? How do they determine what to bring in-house or outsource, and what kind of fee arrangements are they negotiating? Participants will also engage in a hypothetical case study in an exercise to strategize on the best process and technology to address conducting global investigates. The Think Tank will conclude with a networking lunch.

This event is by invitation only, and the number of participants is intentionally kept small to provide ample opportunity for all voices to be heard in this conversational format.

We hope that you will get involved in the Beverly Hills event, and will find the Think Tank to be a valuable new forum for learning and growth.

AGENDA

Is all enterprise data created equal? If not, should all enterprise data have the same protections? Well-publicized data breaches, from customer credit card data to employee health records, highlight the increasing need for companies to better secure truly sensitive data. Developing a tiered approach to protecting the company's "crown jewels" can help reduce costs as well as reduce the risk of future breaches. Hear from a panel of industry experts, including in-house legal and information governance executives, as they discuss the different strategies at work with a "crown jewels" approach and practical steps your organization can take to minimize information security threats.
For global corporations, internal investigations are increasingly complex and often require more than imaging a few hard drives. A myriad of challenges, from cultural issues to Big Data, business disruption and data privacy concerns, require a well-considered approach. Corporate teams are deploying multi-skilled teams that understand the strategic, technical and cultural aspects of investigations and their impact on employees and companies. Participate in this interactive discussion as we walk through a hypothetical case involving data from several continents and strategize on the best process and technology to address particular issues.
How are your peers managing e-discovery? How do they determine what to bring in-house or outsource, and what kind of fee arrangements are they negotiating? E-discovery requires a sophisticated approach encompassing people, process and technology. As companies take control of e-discovery, they are bringing greater efficiencies to the overall process, especially around how they buy and manage software and services. This interactive group discussion will enable attendees to share best practices and discuss emerging trends in e-discovery service and billing models.
